Nerds: From Yesterday to Today

Nerds: From Yesterday to Today

Nerds candy was created in 1983 by an American confectionery company called Wonka Candy Company, which was acquired by Nestlé in 1988. Nerds candy are small crystallized sugar pieces coated with food coloring and are available in a wide variety of flavors.

Over the years, Nerds candy has evolved to include new flavors and different shapes. In 1985, the company began selling two-compartment boxes of Nerds, allowing consumers to mix different flavors.

In the 90s, Nestlé introduced rope-shaped Nerds, called Nerds Rope, which are gummy candies coated with Nerds. Later, Nerds were also included in chocolate bars.

In 2018, Nestlé launched a new variety of Nerds called Nerds Big Chewy, which are candies with a softer and chewier texture than classic Nerds.

Today, Nerds are still popular worldwide and are sold in many countries. The Nerds brand has also expanded its product line to include lollipops, drink mixes, and children's treats.
